The Law Offices of Zullo, Couto & Jacks, LLC is a two-attorney, general practice
firm with a concentration in commercial law and commercial and residential
real estate transactions. The firm’s primary office is located at 83 Main Street,
East Haven, Connecticut and occupies 3,500 square feet of Class A office space,
fully modernized and computerized to accommodate a talented and efficient support
staff. The firm also maintains a satellite office at 15 Meigs Avenue, Madison, Connecticut.
Attorney Alfred J. Zullo
Attorney Alfred J. Zullo received a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University
of New Haven in 1979. He received his Law Degree from Western New England College
School of Law in 1983 and was successful in his first sitting for the Bar exam in
July of 1983. Attorney Zullo obtained his Law Degree in the Evening Division while
maintaining a management position in the retail food industry.
Attorney Zullo is a Past President and past member of the Board of Directors of the
East Haven Chamber of Commerce where he served for ten years. He is currently the
Secretary and a Director of the East Haven Fall Festival, Inc. He is a past Chairman and
a current Director of East Haven Public Access Television. He was also the 1991/1992 and
1992/1993 Committee Chairperson for the East Haven United Way. He is a member of the New
Haven County Bar Association, the Connecticut Bar Association and the Commercial Law
League of America. Attorney Zullo was also the guest lecturer for the “Collecting
Judgments” seminars held in 1993, 1994, and 1995 in North Haven, Connecticut, and has
served as a guest lecturer on various real estate, bankruptcy and probate issues at
numerous public seminars over the last ten years. He is currently a member of The
Quinnipiac Club, The West Haven Italian American Club and The New Haven Gaelic Football Club.
Attorney Joseph H. Zullo
Attorney Joseph H. Zullo recieved a Bachelor of Arts degree from Providence College in 2007 and majored in
Political Science. He received his Law Degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law in 2011. While attending
Quinnipiac, he was recipient of three distinguished academic achievement awards and the CATIC Foundation
Award for his mastery of the areas of real estate and property law. Attorney Zullo obtained his Law Degree
in the Evening Division while working as an title searcher and paralegal during the daytime. Attorney Zullo was successful in
his first sitting for the Bar exam in July of 2011.
In addition to his full-time private practice, Attorney Joseph Zullo is also currently retained
as the Attorney for the Town of East Haven, Connecticut.
Attorney Joseph Zullo is a current member of the Board of Directors of the East Haven Chamber
of Commerce. He is a volunteer with the East Haven Fall Festival Committee.
Attorney Kenneth Jacks
Attorney Kenneth M. Jacks graduated from the University of Connecticut School of
Law in 1965. He was admitted to the practice before the Superior Court, State of Connecticut,
District Court of Connecticut, and Supreme Court of the United States of America. Attorney
Jacks is currently serving in an “of counsel” capacity with the firm.
Additional Firm Information
The firm is currently an approved attorney for and regularly does residential closings for
People’s Bank, New Alliance Bank, Fleet Bank, Option-One Mortgage Company, Wells Fargo,
Flagstar Bank, Washington Mutual, Webster Bank, Liberty Bank, Citizens Bank and the Milford
Bank as well as other various mortgage companies and lenders operating in the State of
Connecticut. The firm has also acted as Bank and borrower’s counsel for several commercial
banks for all types of commercial transactions, including SBA loans. The firm currently
acts as Bank counsel for The Bank of Southern Connecticut for commercial loans, including SBA loans.
The firm has previously represented the Economic Development Commission for the Town of
East Haven where they handled the closing of title to the properties in the East Haven
Industrial Park, title research services and the preparation and acquisition of easements.
The firm has performed tax foreclosure collections for both the Town of East Haven and the
City of New Haven and the New Haven WPCA and has represented them in excess of 400 foreclosure
actions over the last ten years. The firm has previously also performed foreclosure services
and collections services for Branford Savings Bank, now known as North Fork Bank.
The firm currently maintains a BV rating in Martindale and Hubbell and owns and operates
Greater New Haven Title & Closing Services, a title search and title settlement company providing
title and settlement services for out of state residential lenders. The firm is an approved
title attorney agent for Connecticut Attorneys Title Insurance Company, First American Title
Insurance Company, and Fidelity Title Insurance Company.
